Music I listen to

Music I listen to...

Well, I listen to music from many genres, even though I have a weak spot for rock of different sorts... classic rock, rock 'n roll, rock like Sahara Hotnights (my favorite band ;) ), some hardrock, and so on :)

Rock, classical music, music from other cultures, pop, you name it. If I like a song, it doesn't eally matter what it is labelled as.

Some bands/artists I like:

Sahara Hotnights
The Donnas
Kate Nash
Katy Perry
Aerosmith
The White Stripes
Crucified Barbara
Chick Habit
Lilly Allen
Ghost of the Robot
The Sounds
Scissor Sisters
Billy Idol

... and lots more. But these are the ones that I like pretty much every song they make/has made. Then I have other artists/bands where I like some songs, but not all, or not necessarily the band itself. You know what I mean? :)

What I enjoy reading

I have a few books that I don't think I'll ever get tired of. I can read them over and over again, and they never get boring :D

Georgia Nicolson These books are my absolute favorites, and I've read them a number of times. Parts of the gang has also read them, and found them equally funny :) I like them because they remind me of me a bit, and of my friends and how we used to behave.

Bad Kitty It's about the things I always wanted to experience when I was younger - solving a mysterie/case with my friends while having a laugh doing it. And the main character reminds a lot of me actually, but especially when I was younger.

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Do I even need to comment on this? Pretty much every line makes me laugh out loud, and I love to quote it to my friends. :D It's the whole series I mean, all the five books. The first one is the best, but the rest is good too.

Likes
Xena, Buffy, other Joss Whedon shows, Pushing Daisies, watching TV and sometimes movies, read, write, draw, be with friends when there's time for that, evening training (gym), dream about my plans for the future, think about moviemaking and scriptwriting.
I have started making icons and banners and other graphics on my gimp, but I'm still very new at it. I haven't qute figured out how things work yet, so I have a lot to learn. But the more I do it, the more I like doing it :)
I like watching shows and movies and sort of analyse them, in different ways. Sometimes I'm in the mood for looking at the editing, sometimes at how the music fits. Other times it's more the content, or the relationship between characters. Looking for subtext has really become a fun thing to do *laughs*
I'm having a year off school right now, because I was so tired of it all and also because I didn't know exactly what to do. But I miss having work to do, having a place to dress up for, somewhere with people to hang with and watch. I don't function well just sitting at home doing nothing in particular (not counting my spare time activities - all I have now is spare time), I need something to do. I even miss homework, which I think speaks to how much I need something to do all day *G*

Dreams
I want to move to U.K and Brighton, or London. Why? Simply because I love the language and the culture, and it would be so great to be a part of it and speak English all day long ;D
As for a profession I want to become an actress. I want to make people feel things. And I want them to have a good time, the way I have when I watch a show or go to a theater.
Or, I'd love to be a director, or an editor. Editing is so much fun, and at school I was rather alright at it. I cut something, and it all just sort of fell together. I loved that, how to cut it to make it work, what music to put on. I spent probably three times finding just the music when I did my school project, because I wanted it just right.
But I have found a school fairly near by that has a programme for another job I might like, and it is as an IT forensic. Working with the police, as someone who searches through suspects or otehr peoples omputers for evidence and such. I think, I really do, that it could be something for me. And I would be able to get a job only half an hour from home, which is ideal for me. :)

Groovy quotes

And hunger is the gods way of saying... eat.

Gabrielle: This was our only frying pan. Why do you always do that? You do have weapons, don't you?
Xena: I like to be creative in a fight, it gets my juices going.

Gabrielle: Can we cook with your juices?

Aphrodite: Did the little, blond girlie scare the big, hairy men?
Barbarian Leader: We are barbarians. We fear nothing. We fight with the heart of a lion.
Aphrodite: And you run with the feet of a chicken.

Life, loathe it or ignore it, you can't like it.

I didn't break in, the door was unlocked!

Oh oh, here we go! I am the bug man, coo-coo ca-choo.

I laugh in the face of danger! Then I hide, until it goes away...

Great to hear :) I'm sure you'll get them, unless you haven't already :D
I got my "Almost Perfect" this week, and I'm halfway through it now. It's great, actually. Hmm, surprised myself for saying that. But yeah, fun read. Rhys and Gwen have lovely interactions ;D

Oh yes, the magic button... whatever they do, it's probably something we won't see coming *laughs* If they do bring Ianto back, I think it should be something like in "The Greater Good". Deep comatose, unconscious and resilient to that virus somehow (connected to Jack or something else. They are in constant contact with alien things after all). And say three months after Jack has gone, Ianto wakes up. No one at the hospital knew who to contact or something, and therefor neither Gwen nor Jack was told after the attack. Something like that. That outline seriously needs improving, but you get my draft :)

That is, if they bring him back. I'd be happy to see him in flashbacks, dream scenarios and alternate realities. Could be just as good. Like in supernatural, where Dean makes a wish near a djinn, and ends up in a reality where his mother is still alive. That sort of thing. Of course, it would have to go back to normal, but it could make for some interesting stories and character developments.

Ah, I'm doing it again... I can't seem to keep it short, can I xD Hope you don't mind that ;)

    That's excellent about the movies!!!

I was actually really disappointed with the finale. It didn't feel like Torchwood at all. I kept holding out that Ianto would be resureccted or something, I mean, Jack didn't even tell him he loved him! To be honest I can't see me watching season 4 without ianto in it. Thankfully I'm getting the first 2 seasons for my birthday next week, I think I'm just going to have to forget about the last 2 eps of COE!

    Reply from squint:

Yeah, I know what you mean. I wasn't disappointed really, just in shock and denial. It was all so surreal, so unreal somehow. Not what I expected. From beginning to end it was... well, great and awsome and all that, but so surreal because it was Torchwood and yet not. Like you said, it didn't quite feel like Torchwood. I was hoping for so much greatness when the third season was announced, giddy about the possibilities and what might happen. And of course all the aliens and monsters that might pop up - because I do love those storylines, with the action and humour all mixed up into one, with a little bit of drama and mauýbe even sadness. You know?

*sigh* Well, that hope is shattered and broken and stomped on now. I'll never get to see that glorious s3 I was dreaming of :(

And happy birthday! :D *hugs* Hope you have much fun with your TW boxes *grins* How could you not ;)

I'm gonna get s1 soon, hopeully within two weeks, maybe three :)

I love making movies :D But rigth now I can't, cause I have no good programs on my computer, and no camera to film with. But in school, it was sooo fun! I did one for my school project this last year, and got and A, so that made me happy :) Especially editing is fun, and writing a script. I'm trying to do one now, a Torchwood one, but first as a fan fic and then change it a bit so it works as a script.
Yep, The Hitchiker's Guide is hilarious, both the book and the movie *grins* Zaphod is almost too good in the movie xD

Alright, so now it's over. The five days has come and gone, and ... well, it was truly amazing. Even if the unspeakable thing happened *wipes away a stray tear* Unions, I'm chopping unions... anyway, now I appreciate the two previous seasons so much more, and I have no doubt about getting the DVD's anymore. :/

    Oh, I believe you!

Actually *whispers* I might watch it today *giggles* At least the first part, that I found somewhere *looks innocent* :D

Torchwood aside, I had to ask... you like movies yeah? And making them? Or just sort of analysing them? I'm a bit curious, just tell me if I'm being to quizzical :)
